Counseling in Missoula, MT

How long do counseling sessions usually last?

A typical counseling session with Anne Graham, LCPC, lasts approximately 55 minutes.  We will start wrapping up the session a few minutes before that, so that you have a plan for how to apply what you worked on in session to your life.

How often will I need to come to counseling?

The frequency of counseling varies from person to person.  I work with individuals who primarily benefit from coming once a week.  If you are in crisis, you may want to schedule an extra session on a given week.  If you’ve been in counseling for a while and are making progress, but need continued support, you might come in every other week.

How long will I need to come to counseling?

This is an “it depends” answer.  If you have a history of coping well and you seek counseling for getting through a rough time or managing a transition, you may only need to come to counseling for a few months.  If you have been dealing with anxiety for a long time and it impacts many aspects of your life, you will likely benefit from coming longer.

Where do sessions take place?

I conduct most of my sessions at my office at 725 SW Higgins Ave., Suite D, Missoula, MT.  I provide online counseling in Montana as well.  Some sessions for clients engaged in nature-based therapy may take place in a nearby park or on a trail.
