A typical counseling session with Anne Graham, LCPC, lasts approximately 55 minutes. We’ll start wrapping up the session a few minutes before that, so that you leave with a plan for how to apply what you worked on in session to your life.

The frequency of counseling varies from person to person. I work with individuals who primarily benefit from coming once a week. If you’re going through a particularly difficult time, you may want to schedule an extra session on a given week. If you’ve been in counseling for a while and are making progress but need continued support, you might come in every other week.

The answer is “it depends”. If you have a history of coping well and you seek counseling for getting through a rough time or managing a transition, you may only need to come to counseling for a few months. If you’ve been dealing with anxiety for a long time and it impacts many aspects of your life, you will likely benefit from coming longer.

I conduct most of my sessions at my office at 725 SW Higgins Ave., Suite D, Missoula, MT. Some sessions for clients engaged in nature-based therapy may take place in a nearby park or on a trail in Missoula, MT. I provide online counseling in Montana as well.
-
I don’t see clients on evenings or weekends. Some clients choose to come during their lunch hour or start the work day an hour later.

If you look at my insurance and fees page, you will find a list of insurance companies that I contract with. You’ll also find a list of questions you can ask your insurance company to find out whether you will pay a portion of each session, a co-pay, or it will count towards your deductible.

If you are out-of-network (meaning, I don’t contract with your insurance plan) and we are a good fit, you can still work with me. You will pay me at the end of the month, then submit a Superbill, provided by me, to your insurance company for reimbursement.

While it’s important for a therapist to listen well and show empathy and understanding for your feelings, counseling is often much more. Starting in the first session, I will help you determine what goals you have for making changes in your life. We will work together to find out what is getting in the way of your wellness, and we’ll practice different ways of overcoming those barriers in session. This might involve relaxation skills, increasing your ability to allow difficult feelings, taking the power out of thoughts that don’t move you forward, problem-solving, and more.
